Overview

A 2 day tour of Ghana, visiting the World Heritage Site of Elmina Castle, Fort San Jago, Posuban shrines, beaches, the canopy walkway at Kakum National Park, a crocodile pond, birds & bees, a fishing village and the smaller Fort William.

Pick-up Morning pick-up in a Standard 4X4: Accra location of your choice.
Day 1 Depart to Elmina, tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. George Castle.
Elmina A monument to the era of the slave trade and how it ruined Africa.
Those of the African Diaspora may request a “Door of Return” ceremony (extra fee).
Grand stairs to the hilltop Ft. San Jago for a magnificent view.
Estimated Visit a number of elaborate Posuban Shrines maintained by Asafo community groups.
Drive time Explore the busy fishing lagoon in central Elmina to examine the daily catch.
3¼ hours Relaxing at the beach after a busy day. Optional cultural performance for extra fee.

Kakum Park, Birds & Bees, Crocodiles, Beach Village, Fort William
Drop-Off Early morning relaxing at the sandy and enticing beach.
Day 2 Depart for West Africa’s highest rain forest canopy walkway at Kakum National Park.
Accra Visit a nearby stingless bees facility to know more about the bees and their products.
Continue to the crocodiles pond and the weaver birds community at Hans cottage.
Onward to the fishing village of Anomabu, tour the old town of this pleasant village.
Estimated Tour the smaller Fort William, originally constructed by the Dutch in 1640.
Drive time Enjoy the scenic coastal drive back to Accra.
